Universal Day of the Traditional Romanian blouse ia

On the occasion of the Universal Day of the Ie, the group Antipodean Ia warmly invites you once again this year to an exhibition of traditional Romanian blouses and shirts.
This is the third event organized by IA la Antipozi for the Day of the Ie and will take place at the Milford Senior Citizens Club Hall, on June 28th, between 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

This year’s theme is Queen Marie and the Traditional Ie.

We will showcase the blouses embroidered by our group and share stories about the Romanian blouse and Queen Marie – what the ie meant to her, and what it means today.

The Universal Day of the Ie – also known as the celebration of the cămașa cu altiță – is held on June 24th, on the feast day of Sânziene, who were always dressed in ii.

This special day was established in 2013 by the La Blouse Roumaine community, with the aim of making the traditional Romanian ie a national brand recognized worldwide.
