On Saturday, November 29th, Okahu Bay was once again filled with people, good vibes, and the familiar aromas of home. More than 200 people came together to celebrate Romania’s National Day — a true Romanian festival in the middle of the New Zealand summer.

What an incredible evening at Danish House! On Saturday, the Carnival of Colors – Doina Disco Party brought together a cheerful, vibrant crowd of over 100 participants who filled the hall with energy, dancing, and good vibes. The pizza from Presto Pizza was excellent, DJ Gelu kept the dance floor alive non-stop, and a big shout-out goes to Danish House and Joelene, who hosted us perfectly, as always.

On Sunday, November 9, at Takapuna Playcentre, we held our traditional “Letters to Santa” gathering — a morning filled with color, joy, and the holiday spirit. The children fully enjoyed the creative activities: they wrote, drew, and painted their most heartfelt wishes for Santa 🎨✉️, letting their imagination run free.

The third edition of the “Șase, Șase! Super Backgammon Tournament” was a true celebration of strategy, luck, and good cheer! The atmosphere was electric—filled with laughter, applause, and thrilling moments that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

Last weekend, the children who took part in the "Storytime in Romanian" activity showed off their creativity at the Halloween cupcake decorating workshop. It was a sunny day filled with smiles, color, and frosting — thank you, Andie Wood, for your ideas and energy!

The September gathering was a wonderful success! The children enjoyed creating bookmarks with traditional Romanian designs, and it was heartwarming to see parents and grandparents joining in. The shared snacks and food made the atmosphere even warmer and more communal. A truly joyful and memorable event!

The Kākāriki / The parrots comedy brought to the stage the energy, talent, and courage of the amateur actors from the Măgura Group. Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to each of you:
Adina, Aurel, Bianca (an outstanding debut), Claudiu, Daniela, Delia, Dan, Laura – for your vibrant performances and the courage to breathe life into characters in which we all recognised ourselves.

The Seniors’ Club excursion to Sanders House on 23 August 2024 was full of cheer and well organised from the coach departure to the return. The coffee stop provided time for socialising and set a relaxed tone for the day. The visit to Sanders House and strolls through the surroundings, accompanied by the stories and humour of the guides Tudor and Andu, brought much joy to the participants. The traditional picnic and lunch at a local restaurant rounded off a truly memorable day.
