The “Double Six” Tournament promises to deliver a competitive and unforgettable experience for all participants. Inspired by the game of backgammon, the event brings joy and excitement to our community. As organizers, we have ensured that the atmosphere will be friendly and full of fun. We warmly invite you to join us with good cheer and sportsmanship—the essential ingredients for turning this tournament into a memorable success. Throughout the competition, you’ll be treated to pizza and refreshing drinks to keep your energy up during the event.

• Group Stage: Round Robin
  • 1 line won = 1 point.
  • 1 gammon = 2 points.
  • The 1st place from each group qualifies for the semifinals.
  • In case of a tie on points, the result of the direct match will decide the ranking.
• Phase Two: Semifinals
  • Matches are played best of 5 lines (first to 3 wins).
• Finals
  • Matches are played best of 5 lines (first to 3 wins).
  • Bronze Medal Match: between the semifinal losers.
  • Gold Medal Match: between the semifinal winners.

Special Prize: “Marțianul de Aur” – awarded to the player with the most gammons scored throughout the tournament.

“Lost Chances League”
Players eliminated in the group stage may register for this side competition. Matches will be knockout style, best of 3 lines (first to 2 wins).

A core principle of this tournament is sportsmanship. Organizers and players are kindly asked to respect the spirit of the game, to show fairness toward opponents, spectators, and of course, the game itself.

Note on “Chibiț”
“Chibiț” refers to the spectators or commentators around a backgammon game, known for their constant remarks and sometimes unsolicited advice to the players. While often outside observers, they are part of the charm and tradition of the game. Typically, they are also great pizza eaters and soda drinkers—fueling their endless stream of commentary!
